Walpurgisnacht is a German festival (also celebrated elsewhere in Europe) that marks the end of winter, and the beginning of spring. Setting huge bonfires is a notable festival tradition. Riding a giant Alpine Ibex in the nude across them, is more of an artists interpretation.
